September 22
Call to order by Co-President Galen Mitchell at 7:02pm

Notes from our liaison to the Republicans:
--They have not appointed a liaison to us.... perhaps we are too cool for them
--They are making t-shirts that say "No you won't" and will be selling
them for $5.50
--'Pubfest is in the works
--They are going to try to create a "Gusties Restoring America" organization
--And Al Gore is coming to St. Olaf in the Spring (thanks for the info
Republicans)

Vote to better the environment! On the ballot this November

The City of St. Peter is doing voter registration on campus!
September 24-25 from 9am-3pm outside the caf! Please help out!!!!

Doorknock Pittman and Sohre is set for this Thursday!
Thursday, September 25th - meet in the Courtyard Cafe at 6:45pm

Get Out The Vote (GOTV) is coming up quickly!

Election Day/Election Night Party
We need people to drive the vans to get people to the Community Center
to vote!
If you are certified, we really need help!
If you are not van certified, please get certified! We need you!
Election Night we are partying! Food and maybe door prizes! Stay tuned

T-Shirts are coming! Pre-order your shirt now!!!

We are going to table at SCTC. Mankato State doesn't have an active
Dems organization and neither does SCTC doesn't either so we need to
help them out! Contact Kacy if you are interested.

Debate watching party is this Friday in the Courtyard Cafe! Jake is
bringing cookies!

Election trivia night at Patty's on October 28th at 7pm.

Bulletin Boards are going up in the dorms starting tomorrow! Kacy and
Amy are working on putting together packets to make it easy for dorm
captains! If you want to help out, stop by the Den tomorrow anytime
after noon.

Old Dems shirts are still available for $10! Size small is all we have left!

Hello Democrats--

Here are the minutes from tonights meeting! Next meeting is Monday,
September 15th at 7pm in the Boardroom.


Welcome from Galen. He is excited about this important year.

Around the room for introductions. Lots of freshmen and sophomores!!! YEA!

Charles is the liaison to the Republicans, but he missed the first
meeting. Oh well.

Alex Knewtson and Co. from the Tim Walz campaign talked about a lot of
great opportunities (Contact Kacy for their contact information).

Eric Nelson talked on behalf of the DFL. More great opportunities to
volunteer this election season.

SURPRISE GUEST: Margaret Anderson Kelleher - Speaker of the MN House
Please get involved in some way!!!

Terry Morrow told his election night story.

Announcements:

Student Involvement Fair is this Wednesday, September 10th from 5-7.
Stop by and talk to Galen at the College Dems table!

Friday, September 12th @ 6pm Dem's are BBQing in the John's Family
Courtyard! FREE FOOD!!! And we will probably do our first doorknocking
in Co-Ed after (7pm)

Dorm captains are established. If you would like to be a dorm captain,
please contact Kacy, as some dorms still have no one :(

Galen says we like the Republicans. We are hoping to do a huge voter
registration with them sometime between Sept. 22-26.

Working on scheduling debates with politicians.

Some wonderful volunteers are submitting letters to the editor for the
Weekly!!!

Al Franken needs help getting yard signs out to residents in St.
Peter. If you want to help, contact Kacy.

Remember we are tabling this week and next... If you are helping,
please make sure you are registering voters correctly (must include
Dorm/Apartment and Room Number, and please use driver's license
numbers).

We are getting TSHIRTS again!!!! WOOHOO!!! Galen will email design out
when it is done.

If you need a ride to help volunteer at the DFL Office in 'Kato, email
the Dems list.
